Nat Con 2007

Nat Con 2007
October 23rd – 26th, Minneapolis
Activists from all around the U.S. gathered in MN this past week for the National Conference on Tobacco or Health. There were around 3,000 people in attendance. The conference was an opportunity for people to get together and learn about different ways to fight the tobacco industry.
Since, the conference was on our turf, we decided to hit it hard. We worked with some of our partners who work on a national level, and our friends from other states. Together, we made sure that there was a strong youth presence throughout the entire conference (which in the not so distant past has not been the case). Collectively as youth, we organized a dope rally, held a networking sessions, presented a bunch of sessions, and found tons of other ways to get the word out.
We had 5 youth board members in attendance (as well as a bunch of other members stopping by to lend a hand), and they were awesome. People from around the country really took notice of Catalyst. The youth board members attended sessions, helped with the rally, and represented Catalyst as the ambassadors to all the other groups in attendance.
The whole conference was a great opportunity to connect with other groups, meet new people, and share bomb ideas.

You can see cold photos of all the fun we had, including the rally which featured musical performances by the Brass Messengers (www.myspace.com/brassmessengers) and Indigo (www.myspace.com/indigomc).
