With a little assistance from Catalyst, and other minneapolis youth activists, that could be the headline of the Star Tribune soon.
The Tobacco-Free Youth Recreation Program Coordinator, Derek Larsen, approached us at Catalyst asking for our assistance with the creation of a new Parks & Recreation policy. This policy would ban cigarette's from Minneapolis Parks. How could we say no? So, here we are. We plan on helping him, and I'm hoping you plan on helping us. Pretty much what we would like to see is as many youth as possible at the presentation. The more people there, the more the park board will be able to see how much we want this.
I am also looking for a couple dedicated youth who would be willing to do a presentation with me. One would be helping me with a Role Models presentation, and the other would be Healthy Parks. Both of which would be at this meeting. If you are interested at all, and of course you are, then give me a ring, shoot me a text, or type me an email letting me know how involved you'd like to be.
