There's more to Oregon than being California's hat

Looks like I was wrong every time I said fast food is bad for you. Or at least, partly wrong. Although McDonald's makes that argument easy, there is still a dark horse in the race for fast food dominance. Burgerville, a Pacific Northwestern fast-food chain is changing the way people see fast food one grass-fed anti-biotic free beef patty at a time. Their eggs come from cage free hens, and those are anti-biotic free as well.

Even with their desserts and sides they refuse to use any non-local ingredients, so their blackberry milkshakes and buttermilk-battered onion rings are seasonal treats. What is even more amazing is that the prices are low, but the company pulls in profit and consistently increases sales annually while maintaining the price.

If only there was a Burgerville out here. Unfortunately the CEO Tom Mears appears to have no plans on expanding beyond Oregon and Washington. However, if he can start a chain like this, so can someone out here in the Midwest. And, before I forgot, to put the cherry on the sundae, the company also derives 100% of it's energy from wind power.
